It Ends
in Surrender
It was "quit" pro quo at WWE Over the Limit. WWE Champion John Cena ravaged TWO challengers and forced The Miz to surrender after foiling a ruse which The Awesome One stole from The Rock - The Champ's WrestleMania XXVIII opponent.
WWE Champion John Cena def. The Miz (“I Quit” Match)
SEATTLE — Don’t make John Cena angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
Forced to rumble with both TheMiz and his lackey, Alex Riley, in tonight’s “I Quit” Match, The Champ almost had his WWE Title taken from him when The Awesome One used a cell phone recording of Cena screaming out in submission to trick the official. But when The Miz’s scheme was revealed, an irate Cena unleashed hell, battering his two opponents before locking in a devastating STF to make his rival scream “I quit!” (PHOTOS)
It was an unforgettable ending to a bout that is quickly becoming John Cena’s trademark match. The Champ quit? It’s not going to happen. He’s never uttered the words in his life and that’s exactly why he chose this brutal stipulation for tonight’s contest. Having beaten powerhouses like Randy Orton, Batista and JBL in this dangerous environment, Cena knew his unbreakable spirit would give him a serious advantage over his spineless rival.
But The Miz is not an opponent to be taken lightly. Cunning and ruthless, he’s willing to do anything to win — something he proved time and time again during his five-month reign as WWE Champion. Not only did he outwit the likes of John Morrison and Jerry Lawler during his run, but he even managed to walk away from his WrestleMania XXVII showdown with Cena with the title still around his waist.
Tonight, The Awesome One knew he’d have to pull out all the stops if he wanted to leave WWE Over the Limit as champion, which is why he immediately took advantage of the fact that there were no disqualifications. Calling on the aid of his VP of Corporate Communications, The Miz turned the bout into a makeshift Handicap Match and brutally double teamed Cena with Alex Riley from the opening bell. Attacking their loathed enemy with everything that wasn’t nailed down, the vile duo abused The Champ, but he would not give up.
When his physicality didn’t get the job done, The Miz borrowed a trick that The Rock used in his 1999 “I Quit” Match against Mankind and played a recording of Cena screaming the only two words that can bring an end to this bout. For a moment, the official was positive that The Champ had submitted and the title was nearly handed to The Cleveland Screamer. It didn’t take long for the sleazy plot to unravel, though, and that’s when Cena snapped.
Still cross about losing his WrestleMania XXVII bout against The Miz due to The Rock’s involvement, The Champ took his long brewing fury out on The Awesome One and his toady in the KeyArena. After sending Riley through the announce table with a huge Attitude Adjustment, Cena chased The Miz up the entrance ramp where he smashed him to the ground before locking in a tight STF that made the slimeball cry out in defeat.
It was an amazing performance that once again made one thing abundantly clear — when John Cena is focused he cannot be beaten. There’s no doubt that The Champ’s WrestleMania XXVIII opponent, The Rock, was somewhere watching this match, realizing this very thing.

Dream Vanquished
Christian's championship dream was shattered by the World Heavyweight Title's owner, Randy Orton, on what will be a sleepless night in Seattle for the defeated Captain Charisma.
World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton def. Christian
SEATTLE – Amid the outrageous calamity of WWE Over the Limit, World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton triumphed over Christian, crushing Captain Charisma’s hopes at regaining the illustrious World Title he has worked for his entire life.
The critical match between two of SmackDown’s finest grapplers transcended the epic championship struggle that the WWE Universe was expecting. From the opening bell, it became a personal battle, fueled by the lifelong desire of two Superstars to be the absolute best. Orton, a third-generation brawler, was destined from birth to make himself part of the squared circle elite. Christian – the onetime starry-eyed boy with the impossible dream – who as long as he could remember has been giving his blood, sweat and tears to become a World Champion.
And when the smoke cleared of this knockdown, drag out struggle for supremacy, it would be The Viper that would strike the loudest. After flipping himself out of the Killswitch, Orton blasted his adversary with the RKO and covered him for the all-important three-count.
Then, in the aftermath of the brutal match, the two great
Superstars shook hands in the middle of the ring in a well-deserved moment of absolute mutual respect and unquestionable honor.
Just five days after capturing his first World Championship at Extreme Rules, Christian’s lifelong dream swiftly descended into a nightmare when The Viper pinned his shoulders to the canvas on the May 6 edition of SmackDown. One week later, the noticeably disappointed former champion took the high road, congratulating WWE’s Apex Predator on his newly acquired eighth World Title, claiming that he held no ill will toward Orton or SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long for making the match. Instead, he chose to set his sights on reclaiming his glory in a high stakes rematch at WWE Over the Limit. But, Christian’s redemption was not meant to be.
Christian – much like his victorious opponent – has always enjoyed a special bond with the WWE Universe, thanks to the unrelenting drive, courage and heart that makes him such a cunning warrior. However, now that Randy Orton has bested him on two separate occasions, will he be forced to succumb to the notion that some dreams are ultimately beyond his reach? Find out on the next explosive SmackDown, Friday at 8/7 CT, on SyFy.

Truth in Revolt
More aggressive than he's been in his entire career, R-Truth managed to overcome two-time World Champion Rey Mysterio at WWE Over the Limit and then smashed a water bottle on his fallen opponent's head.

SEATTLE – Once renowned for his exciting hip-hop entrances, the ravenous R-Truth dropped a whole different kind of beat at WWE Over the Limit, where Rey Mysterio suffered a startling defeat at the hands of the emotionally unstable ring warrior. (PHOTOS)
After evading Mysterio’s signature 619, Truth leveled The Masked Superstar with a devastating new offensive maneuver. Following the match, the bitter former rapper disrespected Mysterio further by striking him in the head with a water bottle.
Convinced that he is the victim of a grand conspiracy against him that extends all the way up to the Raw General Manager, Truth unleashed a side of himself never before seen by theWWE Universe when he turned on his former friend John Morrison on the April 18, 2011, edition of Monday Night Raw. In the weeks that followed, Truth continued to brutalize The Prince of Parkour, all the while lambasting his passionate fans for distracting him from attaining championship glory. In Truth’s warped version of reality, his past focus on entertaining his young admirers is the reason he has yet to become WWE Champion.
After taking Morrison out of action with a neck injury – a feat he was all too eager to brag about – Truth targeted Mysterio, one of Raw’s most promising acquisitions in the 2011 WWE Draft. Envious of The Ultimate Underdog’s many accomplishments during his illustrious WWE career, Truth ambushed Mysterio following a hard-fought No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match for John Cena’s WWE Title on Raw – a bout the conspiracy theorist felt he should have been a part of.
Responding to Mysterio’s challenge to collide at WWE Over the Limit, Truth vowed that The Masked Superstar would “get got” in Seattle, and in spite of his aerial ability and undying fighting spirit, Mysterio ultimately couldn’t handle “the Truth” in this Emerald City showdown. Whether the WWE Universe likes it or not, Truth picked up an impressive victory against a former two-time World Champion.
R-Truth’s new attitude and startling degree of in-ring focus is already paying off, but The Master of the 619 seldom stays down for long, and will no doubt show the hip-hop hothead “what’s up” in the very near future on Monday Night Raw.

No Limits
In his first pay-per-view match, the scintillating Sin Cara overcame Chavo Guerrero in a clash that took to the air in Seattle's KeyArena and proved that there may be no limit to the masked man's potential in the squared circle.
Sin Cara def. Chavo Guerrero
SEATTLE -- Sin Cara soared high at WWE Over the Limit, reigning supreme over Chavo Guerrero in his first pay-per-view showdown. Match photos
The explosive standoff between the two fast-paced Superstars made for an epic encounter from the start. The virtual tennis match of earth-shattering offensive maneuvers between the agility machine that is Sin Cara and the crafty, high-octane Guerrero kept theWWE Universe completely mesmerized. And in the climactic moments of the electric tour-de-force, Sin Cara seized the moment, driving his adversary into the canvas, catapulting himself past his dangerous foe and into the stratosphere of pay-per-view victory.
It’s no surprise that the Mexican match of tradition proved to be such a fierce battle when the WWE Universe considers the resentment from which it emerged. After making numerous claims that Sin Cara was "following in his footsteps" on the May 13 edition of SmackDown, Guerrero took it upon himself to help the masked up-and-comer win his match against Daniel Bryan. But, when Sin Cara took exception to his unwanted assistance, things quickly turned physical. The following week, self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior” tried to embarrass his foe by attempting to defeat Bryan in less than five minutes. Moments after he failed to do so, Sin Cara emerged, fueling the fires by sending Guerrero flying out of the ring.
In his short time in WWE, Sin Cara has set WWE ablaze, with a barrage of jaw-dropping assaults that shattered both expectation and logic. But, in the country he came from, “Guerrero” was more than a name, it was an institution – and for very good reason. The enraged Chavo came into WWE Over the Limit with his family honor on the line. And defeating such a high-caliber grappler when his back was against the wall was no easy task.
In this classic encounter, Sin Cara proved that not even the experience of Chavo Guerrero could ground the gravity-defying Superstar in his meteoric rise. Who will the “international sensation” challenge next? Find out on SmackDown, Friday at 8/7 CT, only on SyFy.

Cole . The cheese-eating announcer had lost his Kiss My Foot Match at WWE Over the Limit to Jerry Lawler, but was hightailing it up the ramp, boasting that he would never taste King’s tootsies. Fortunately for the WWE Universe, Bret “Hit Man” Hart had other ideas.
TheWWE Hall of Famer made a surprise appearance, wrangling Cole back into the squared circle and locking him into a Sharp Shooter. At that point, Lawler gleefully shoved his foot inside Cole’s big mouth to the great delight of the WWE Universe.
“Jerry Lawler was right in thinking I might hate Michael Cole as much as he does,” explained Hart. “So, he made the call and thought it might be a good idea for me to play back-up for him.”
A good idea indeed. In fact, Hart proved the perfect person for Lawler to contact. After all, the legend had faced off against the beloved announcer in a Kiss My Foot Match in 1995. Although Hart and Lawler have since made amends, The Excellence of Execution still recalls his victory that night with fondness.
“It was such a great joy sticking my foot in Lawler’s mouth and taking my time doing it,” remembered Hart. “There was a lot of bad blood, and Jerry knows he said a lot of stuff, so it’s really kind of come full circle.”
And this time around, it would be King who would relish the moment. And who could blame him? Cole had been hurling verbal grenades at Lawler for months. To Hart, the comeuppance was long overdue.
“Michael Cole pushed all [Lawler’s] buttons, and you could just see it build,” said Hart of Cole’s relentless taunting. “It’s kind of like pulling a lion’s tail. Jerry’s a pretty formidable wrestler, especially when you get him mad.”
While the five-time WWE Champion looks back with affection and pride at his storied career, he also appears extraordinarily appreciative of the now and the time he gets to spend with the WWE Universe.
“There’s always a lot of WWE fans in Seattle,” said Hart with a grin. “It’s a good feeling for me to know that the fans and WWE Universe still remember me and still give the support that they always have.”

Best Foot Forward
The best there is, the best there was and the best there will ever be, Bret Hart, made a surprise appearance after the Kiss My Foot Match at WWE Over the Limit. In a WWE.com exclusive, Hart explains why he helped Jerry Lawler punish his "arch" rival.
